Low pressure area over the Bay likely to intensify into depression: Met office

The low pressure area over the Andaman Sea and the adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well-marked low over the same area and it is likely to intensify into a depression in the next 24 hours, the weather department said on Saturday.

 

However, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, the department said in its weather bulletin.

 

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

 

The mercury reached 35.3 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Sandwip of Chattogram division, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.0 degrees in Tetulia of Rangpur division.
