Netrakona: A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Joypur village under Mohanganj upazila of the district today. The deceased was Awal Hossain, 48, son of late Wahed Ali of the same village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Awal in the afternoon when he was returning home from the field near his house with cows. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanganj Police Station Aminul Islam confirmed the incident.
