Sunamganj: A youth was killed when lightning struck him at Banshtala village under Doarabazar upazila of the district today. The deceased was Saidul Islam, 25, son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of Banshtala Dakshin Colony village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, lightning struck Saidul around 5am when he went out for taking water from a tube well in the courtyard of his house, said Md. Jahidul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Doarabazar Police Station. Saidul was taken to Doarabazar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
