Light to Moderate Rain Forecasted in Several Bangladesh Divisions: BMD

Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind in several parts of the country. The areas expected to be affected include a few places over the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, as well as one or two places over the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions. This weather pattern is expected to persist for the next 24 hours starting from 9:00 am today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD bulletin also indicated the possibility of moderately heavy falls at isolated locations during this period. Additionally, a mild heat wave is currently sweeping across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Khulna divisions, and the districts of Dhaka, Narayanganj, Madaripur, and Kishoreganj, although there are predictions that it may abate.

Weather expert Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik noted that both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The previous day's maximum temperature was recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius in Dimla, while the minimum temperature was 24.1 degrees Celsius, recorded in Bandarban.

In Dhaka, residents can expect the sun to set at 6:47 pm today and rise at 5:11 am tomorrow.
