Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am today. These weather conditions are anticipated to affect several divisions, with potential moderate heavy falls in certain areas.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BMD bulletin issued this morning specifies that a few places in the Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience these rain or thunder showers. Furthermore, one or two locations in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka divisions might witness similar weather patterns. The bulletin also notes a potential slight drop in day and night temperatures across the country.
The meteorological department has indicated that the monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh, while it remains moderate to strong over the North Bay. Additionally, the BMD has projected the formation of a low-pressure area over the North Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal around October 1.
On the previous day, Sayedpur recorded the highest temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius, whereas the lowest temperature was reported at 23.4 degrees Celsius in Bandarban. In Dhaka, residents can expect the sun to set at 5:50 pm today and rise at 5:49 am tomorrow.
