Dhaka: Health officials today reported 514 fresh cases of dengue in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement revealed that out of the 514 cases, 115 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 90 in Chattogram division, 111 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 95 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 40 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 15 patients were hospitalised in the Mymensingh division and eight in the Rajshahi division.
Since the onset of the dengue outbreak, Bangladesh has recorded 188 deaths and 45,206 infections this year. Last year, the dengue virus claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 people across the country.
