Dhaka: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at different parts of the country for the next 24 hours beginning this morning, as forecasted by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are expected in many places across the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Meanwhile, one or two locations in the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions may also experience similar weather conditions, with moderately heavy to heavy falls anticipated in some areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
The forecast also indicates a possible rise in day and night temperatures by 1-3 degrees Celsius across the country. On Friday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.5 degrees Celsius in Koyra upazila of Khulna division, while the minimum temperature today was 23.2 degrees Celsius in Bandarban district of Chattogram division. Bandarban also recorded the highest rainfall over the past 24 hours, with 141 millimeters of rain measured until 6 am today. The sun is set to set at 6:42 pm today and rise at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
