Narayanganj: Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar emphasized the critical role of education in eliminating societal discrimination during a view exchange meeting held at the Zila Shilpakola Academy. He asserted that there is no alternative to education for removing discrimination from society.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was organized by the Narayanganj district administration under the theme "The role of educational institutions in building the students as worthy citizens." Prof Abrar highlighted the necessity of preparing educational institutions to inspire the next generation to pursue schooling actively.
Prof Abrar stated that addressing student needs is crucial to fostering their interest in education. He acknowledged the challenges faced by many educational institutions, often stemming from political influences, and assured that efforts are underway to resolve issues in the education sector. He expressed hope that future governments would prioritize education by implementing newly formulated policies.
The meeting featured speeches from several prominent figures, including Senior Secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education wing Siddiq Jubair, Secretary to the Technical and Madrasha wing Dr K M Kabirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Zahidul Islam, and Police Super Prottus Kumar Majumder. The event was attended by district-level officers, political leaders, and representatives from social, cultural, and journalistic communities.
