Rangpur: Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam emphasized that land services in the country have significantly improved in terms of accessibility and modernization during a post-rally discussion. “All land-related services including Khatian and Namzaari can be accessed online from home. This reduces time and costs, and increases transparency and accountability,” he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Rangpur divisional and district administrations jointly organized the discussion at the inaugural function of the three-day Land Fair-2025 held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises in the city. The fair was inaugurated by the Divisional Commissioner, who released balloons as the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal presided over the inauguration ceremony, which was followed by a vibrant rally that commenced and concluded at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, covering the main road of the city. Attendees included government and private officials, social workers, educators, students, and journalists.
The chief guest underscored the importance of verifying land information before transactions and maintaining accurate land documentation. “If you have the right knowledge about land services, you can be free from fraud. For this, everyone should be diligent about land services,” he advised.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Rangpur Land Office, Md Dulal Hossain, presented a flow chart on the ‘People-Friendly Land Services 60-30-10 Model’ and demonstrated effective ways to access land services online. Notable attendees included Rangpur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Aminul Islam, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Md Ashraful Islam, and Rangpur metropolitan BNP convener Shamsuzzaman Samu, who addressed the gathering as special guests.
