Dhaka: Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder announced today that land services in Bangladesh are being transformed to be more user-friendly through the integration of Information Technology (IT). Speaking at the 'Land Fair-25' event held at Bhumi Bhaban in Tejgaon, he highlighted the recent technological advancements and reform programs of the ministry that have garnered attention across various sectors of society.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was chaired by Senior Secretary to the Land Ministry, ASM Saleh Ahmed, and featured addresses from notable figures such as ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury, Land Reforms Commission Chairman AJM Salahuddin Nagri, and several Additional Secretaries of the Land Ministry, including Dr. Md Mahmud Hassan, Sayma Yunus, Md Abdur Rouf, Md Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, and Mohammad Faizur Rahman.
Majumder elaborated on the increasing satisfaction among land service recipients, attributing it to the adoption of modern technology and IT solutions. The government has implemented various initiatives to ensure that land management is more transparent and accessible. Notably, all payments related to services such as mutation and Khatian are now conducted entirely online.
The adviser further mentioned that the introduction of an online payment system for land development tax has resulted in significant revenue, with Taka 10 to Taka 12 crore being deposited daily into the government exchequer. Additionally, the mobile financing system (MFS) has been integrated into land-related services, further streamlining the process for citizens.
