Dhaka:Rajshahi Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has committed to covering the treatment expenses for eight-year-old Fardin Rayhan, who requires urgent surgery for a congenital heart defect.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fardin, an orphan since his mother's death last year, has been under the care of his grandmother, Halima Begum. His father, who was a rickshaw puller, struggled to afford his treatment. The family, with his grandfather also working as a rickshaw puller and his grandmother employed temporarily as a sweeper in Rajshahi city, had been receiving financial help to continue Fardin's care at Rajshahi Heart Foundation.

Medical evaluations have suggested that Fardin needs to be transferred to Dhaka Heart Foundation for surgery, which is estimated to cost over Tk 5 lakh. Upon learning of Fardin's condition from his grandmother, accompanied by local BNP leaders, Minister Minu decided to take full responsibility for the medical expenses.

He has arranged for Fardin and his grandmother to stay at his residence in Dhaka and has organized their transport to the city, ensuring that necessary arrangements for the surgery are in place. Minister Minu has called for prayers for Fardin's successful recovery and return to good health.
