Dhaka: Physical condition of the leading Lalon Sangeet exponent Farida Parveen, who has been undergoing treatment at the ICU of a Dhaka hospital, is little stable today compared to yesterday, said physicians.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, two special medical boards have been formed for treating the legendary singer. A 6-member board was established at 1 pm today, followed by a 10-member board at 10:30 pm on Wednesday at the Universal Medical College and Hospital.
Dr. Ashis Kumar Chakraborty, managing director of the hospital, confirmed that Farida Parveen’s physical condition, who has been suffering from various ailments including kidney disease for a long time, has shown some improvement compared to yesterday.
Expert physicians from Bangladesh Medical University, National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology, and Universal Medical College and Hospital are part of the medical boards formed for her treatment. Farida is dealing with multiple health issues, including pneumonia, electrolyte imbalance, kidney problems, liver disease, and diabetes.
Farida Parveen is a unique name in the folk music arena of Bangladesh. Born on December 31, 1954, in Natore, she grew up in Kushtia. She has been especially appreciated in the country and abroad for singing the songs of the mystic poet Lalon.
