Kusherchar: The people of Kusherchar in Nabagram Union and Manikganj Municipality formed a human chain at "Kusherchar Kheyaghat" today, demanding the construction of a bridge over the Kaliganga River at the Kusherchar point to ensure smooth communication for the area's residents.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the demonstration saw participation from various segments of the community, including students and teachers, under the auspices of the Kusherchar United Club. A meeting was also held at the Kusherchar Kheyaghat point, presided over by Juwel Rana, president of Kusherchar United Club.

Prominent figures such as Manikganj District BNP's former Organising Secretary Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan, District Joint Convener Masud Parvej, former councillor of Manikganj Municipality Abu Mohammad Nahid, and Manikganj Municipality Swechchhasebak Dal leader Murad Hossain addressed the meeting. The speakers emphasized that Kusherchar Kheyaghat serves as a crucial junction connecting Manikganj Municipality and Nabagram Union.

The absence of a bridge forces thousands of people, including school-going children, to cross the Kaliganga River by boat daily, which poses significant risks, especially during the rainy season.
