Dhaka: The National Consensus Commission convened a meeting with Gano Sanghati Andolon to deliberate on the reform proposals and recommendations advanced by five reform commissions. The session commenced at approximately 10 am on Sunday at the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was chaired by Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz. Other notable attendees included commission members Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Badiul Alam Majumder, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Consensus) Monir Haider.
Representing Gano Sanghati Andolon were Chief Coordinator Jonayed Saki, Executive Coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel, Political Council Leaders Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu and Monir Uddin Pappu, and Editorial Board Members Bachchu Bhuiyan, Julhasnain Babu, Deepak Roy, and Tariqul Sujan.
The Consensus Commission has already engaged with BNP, Jamaat, NCP, and other parties during the initial phase of political party discussions. Following the meeting with the Mass Solidarity Movement, the commission plans to engage in dialogue with the National Socialist Party (JSD).
