KUET shut down for sine die

KHULNA The Khulna University of Engineering and

Technology (KUET) authorities today announced it's closure for an indefinite

period following a clash between two groups of students over a charity

football match.

All residential students have been asked to vacate the halls, said Monoj

Kumar, Public Relation Officer of KUET told BSS.

He said an official order signed by KUET Registrar Shahedul Islam has

already been hanged at the notice board.

Male students have been asked to vacate the residential halls by 5:00pm

today while the female students will have to leave their hall within 10:00am

tomorrow (Sunday), he said.

The official went on saying that both male and female students started to

leave the campus from early today.

The clash erupted on Friday afternoon over a football match between Amar

Ekushey Hall and Fazlul Haque Hall of the university on the campus.

Law enforcers were deployed on the campus at night and the situation is

under control, said Moniruzzaman Mithu, deputy additional police commissioner

(media) of KMP.
