Krishak Seva Kendra Inaugurated to Boost Agricultural Production in Sherpur

Sherpur: A Partner Field School and Krishak Seva Kendra were inaugurated in the district with the objective of increasing agricultural production and providing farmers with training on modern farming technologies. The centre was inaugurated at Dubarchar village under the Sannyasirchar block of Kamarchar union in Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sadar Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Nusrat Jahan attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. The programme was presided over by Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer in charge of the Sannyasirchar block. Speaking on the occasion, Nusrat Jahan stated that farmers would receive hands-on training through the Partner Field School. She added that the Krishak Seva Kendra would provide various agricultural services, including the supply of quality seeds and fertilizers, as well as guidance on pest and disease management.

Sadar Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Anwar Hossain and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Shariful Islam were present as special guests. The speakers highlighted that potato is an important cash crop and emphasized that the application of appropriate technology and modern cultivation methods can significantly increase production. They noted that the initiative would help farmers reduce production costs and increase profits, while also contributing to sustainable agricultural management through skill development.

Local public representatives, agricultural officials, community leaders, and farmers from the area were present at the inauguration ceremony.
