Khulna: The Traffic Division of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) organized an awareness rally this morning at the city's Rupsha Traffic Intersection area to promote safe driving practices and reduce road accidents and traffic congestion. Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam attended the event as chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shafiqul Islam urged drivers not to park vehicles indiscriminately at intersections and to avoid driving when fatigued. "Every driver and passenger represents a family. A single act of carelessness on the road can cause suffering for many families," he emphasized. He highlighted the importance of following traffic rules and maintaining road discipline to make Khulna safe and congestion-free.
The rally witnessed participation from various stakeholders, including traffic inspectors, sergeants, drivers of e-rickshaws, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and leaders of transport workers' unions. The event aimed to foster collaboration among these groups to ensure safer roads in the city.
