KMP held three criminals on charge of murder, seized revolver

The Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has arrested three criminals on charge of painter Imon murder case from Gobarchaka area under Sonadanga Police Station here last night.

The arrested criminals were identified as Mamun Howladar alias Mamun (23), son of Habib Howladar, Parveen Sultana Tikli (29), daughter of late Younus Sarder and Md Salim Sheikh (49), son of Mohammad Ali Sheikh.

Police recovered one foreign revolver, 6 rounds of bullets and 1,350 pieces of yaba tablets from their possessions.

KMP Police Commissioner Md. Mozammel Haque disclosed the information in a press briefing today at the KMP headquarters.

Earlier, on October 7, a team of DB police arrested Mamun Howladar alias Mamun from Gobarchaka area under Sonadanga Police Station in the city.

Police searched his body and recovered one foreign revolver and six rounds of bullet.

Following his statement, Police arrested other criminals who were allegedly involved in Imon murder.

A total of 13 cases were lodged against Mamun including 10 drug cases. There are also two pending warrants against him in Khalishpur police station.

On October 5, Imon, a painter was murdered centering a conflict of taking superiority in Gobarchaka area under Sonadanga Police Station. Within a short time of the murder, five accused were so far arrested with weapons in this connection, the KMP chief said.
