Kuwait city: Bashundhara Kings wrapped up their AFC Challenge League campaign with a 2-0 defeat against host Kuwait Sports Club in their last group B match held at the Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Stadium in Kuwait last night. Kings, who had already been eliminated from the tournament race following previous defeats in group matches against Oman’s Al-Seeb (2-3) and Lebanon’s Al Ansar (0-3), ended their AFC campaign without a single point.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the early breakthrough came for three-time AFC Cup champions Kuwait SC in the first minute when Youssef Al Sulaiman headed the ball home utilizing a cross from Sami Al Saneya at the right wing, giving his side a 1-0 lead. Tunisia’s Taha Khenissi doubled the lead for Kuwait in the injury time of the first half. Khenissi flicked a cross from Daham, leaving goalkeeper Zico helpless under the bar.

Despite some late attempts, Kings failed to capitalize on their opportunities. Kuwait SC’s backline remained resolute, wrapping up another performance. With the defeat, the Kings finished bottom of Group B without a single point.
