Khulna: The government has appointed Additional Commissioner, promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), Mohammad Zahidul Hasan as the new commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP). The change is set to take effect immediately in the interest of public welfare, as specified in a notification released by the home ministry today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman. It specifies that DIG Hasan will be succeeding Md Zulfikar Ali Haider in the role of KMP commissioner. Concurrently, Md Zulfikar Ali Haider has been reassigned to the Industrial Police as Deputy Inspector General, as per the same government directive.
