State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said the present government has been implementing different pragmatic programs for expanding social safety nets to improve living condition of the poverty-stricken people of the country.
"The government at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for widening the social safety nets to provide financial assistance to the down-trodden people for improving their socio-economic conditions", Khasru said.
He said this while distributing financial assistance to the patients of different deadly diseases like cancer, liver-cirrhosis and heart ailments at local public hall here.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Netrakona Anjana Khan Mojlish, the function was addressed, among others, by Chairman of Netrakona Zila Parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sajal, Police Super Netrakona Foyez Ahmed, Chairman of Netrakona Sader Upazila Ataur Rahman Manik and Deputy Director of District Social Service Department Mohammad Alal Uddin.
