Khaleda Zia Taken to Evercare Hospital for Health Checkup

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has been taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital this evening for a health checkup. She departed from her Gulshan residence at 7:40 pm and arrived at the hospital in the Bashundhara residential area at 8:20 pm, as reported by BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan. BNP Secretary General along with other leaders and activists were present during this time.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khaleda Zia previously traveled to London on January 8 for advanced medical treatment. She spent 17 days undergoing treatment at a London clinic before continuing her treatment at her son Tarique Rahman’s home on January 25. Her care in London was overseen by specialist doctors Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross from the London Clinic.



Khaleda Zia returned to Bangladesh on May 6, following her advanced treatment in the UK. Upon her return to Dhaka, a medical board led by Evercare Hospital’s specialist doctor Professor Shahabuddin Talukder provided her with medical services at her home. Khaleda Zia, who is 80 years old, has been dealing with various physical ailments for a long time.
