Lakshmipur: BNP Joint Secretary General and Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar) candidate Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee today called BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia a 'courageous woman,' emphasizing her imprisonment during the Liberation War and the injustices she has endured over the years.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anee made these remarks during an election campaign meeting at Azim Shah School ground in Lakshmipur. He highlighted that Khaleda Zia's health has deteriorated due to prolonged mistreatment. He noted the nationwide prayers for her recovery and commended her efforts towards women's development during her time as prime minister.
Anee also paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, acknowledging his contributions to the Liberation War and national development. He stated that the Zia family is respected both domestically and internationally. The event was attended by Lakshmipur District BNP member secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu along with other party leaders.
