Dhaka: A court here today showed four people, including former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder and former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, arrested in fresh cases lodged over murders that occurred during the student-led July-August mass uprising. The two others accused are former deputy commissioners of police Md Moshiur Rahman and Md Jewel Rana.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiyak passed the orders as police presented the four accused before the court and requested to show them arrested in the cases. Of the four, Majumder was shown arrested in two separate murder cases filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station, while Mamun was shown arrested in a murder case filed with the Hajaribagh Police Station.
Former DCs of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s detective branch, Md Moshiur Rahman and Md Jewel Rana, were shown arrested in a murder case filed with the capital’s Dhanmandi Police Station.
