Mymensingh: National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has emphasized the necessity of implementing the July Charter and July Declaration by August 5. Speaking at a rally in front of Shaheed Minar at the Town Hall area, he outlined the party's commitment to institutional reforms as a means to achieve the desired Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid stressed the importance of establishing a neutral administration and judiciary. He highlighted the formation of a constitutional committee aimed at creating an impartial Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and Public Service Commission (PSC) as the main goals of the NCP. These reforms, he argued, are essential steps toward building the envisioned Bangladesh.
Nahid further stated that the realization of a free Bangladesh is contingent upon electoral reforms. He assured the attendees at the rally that the reform process is underway, citing the consensus commission's intention to adopt the July Charter. He expressed confidence that with the support of the people of Mymensingh, the desired Bangladesh could soon become a reality.
The rally also saw speeches from other prominent NCP figures, including Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Southern Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah, and Joint Conveners Tasnim Zara and Samanta Sharmin, who echoed the urgency of implementing the July Charter by the specified deadline.
