‘Juicy fest’ held to encourage women in enterprise

A day-long ‘Juicy fest’ was held at Setara Convention Centre in Mirpur on Saturday to promote women entrepreneurs.

Nari Uddokta Forum, a platform for women entrepreneurs, organised the festival.

A total of 30 stalls of the women entrepreneurs participated in the ‘Juicy fest’. Entrepreneurs have displayed and sold their products to visitors.

The festival comprising discussion, puppet shows, raffle draw, and cultural programmes started from 11am and continued till 7pm.

Rafia Akter, president of Nari Uddokta Forum, said they arranged the festival to encourage around 40,000 women entrepreneurs on the platform.

M Marzina, a member of Nari Uddokta Forum, said, “I have participated at the fair with my homemade products like pickles and jelly. However, my first product is Austagramer Ponir (Cheese), which came from my village home Austagram of Kishoreganj.”

Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, director (acting), Horticulture Wing, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) was the chief guest while Dr. Shamim Ahmed, additional deputy director, DAE; Nazmun Nahar, director, finance and compliance, UCEP Bangladesh; and cyber security expert Tanvir Hasan Zoha, assistant professor, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), among others, addressed.
