Khulna: Jubo Adhikar Parishad, a front organization of Gano Adhikar Parishad, organized a torch procession in the city last night to demand a ban on the Jatiya Party (JP-Ershad). The procession was a response to an attack on the Anti-Facism Student, Worker and People’s Movement in the capital, attributed to the Jatiya Party, an ally of the Awami League. The procession commenced from the Ferryghat area at Lower Jashore Road and concluded at the Dakbangla intersection.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a protest meeting followed the procession, presided over by H M Tajul Islam, the president of the city unit of Jubo Adhikar Parishad. General secretary S K Rashed, along with leaders Saijid Hossain, Khairul Islam, and Aziz Sheikh Rubel, also addressed the gathering. The speakers asserted that the political activities and influence of the Jatiya Party should be eliminated from the country. They criticized the Jatiya Party for its long-standing support of the Awami League. The speakers emphasized that as t
he rule of what they described as ‘Fascist Hasina’ has ended, any attempt by the Jatiya Party to support such elements will face strong opposition and efforts for their removal from Bangladesh.
