DHAKA, May 22, 2017 (BSS) - Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Ministry at a meeting yesterday recommended for constructing own building with modern equipments and facilities for Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) to turn the national news agency into a further modernised organisation.
The recommendation was made at the 21st meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman AKM Rahmatullah in the chair, according to a parliamentary secretariat press release here.
Committee members Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and Simin Hossain Rimi also attended the meeting, among others.
The meeting also recommended for quick resolution of the pending audit objections of the BSS.
The committee suggested for taking steps to make Bangladesh television more popular by producing quality dramas and programmes as per demand of viewers.
Moreover, the committee also put emphasis on taking training programme for creating professional producers and reporters, skill camerapersons and engineers as well as dynamic news presenters.
The meeting also recommended for making such kind of programmes that can present the government's various people oriented development initiatives in an attractive way.
Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmed, Managing Director and Chief Editor of BSS Abul Kalam Azad and high officials of the ministry and parliamentary secretariat were present.
