JS Body on Liberation War Affairs Holds Its 1st Meeting

Dhaka: The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) was held today at the JS Bhaban. Md Monirul Haque Chowdhury, MP, chaired the meeting.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an introduction session. Heads of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council, Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust, and the Directorate of July Mass Uprising presented their respective activities during the session, as noted in a press release from the parliament secretariat.



At the meeting’s conclusion, the committee chairman led a munajat, seeking eternal peace for the souls who perished during the July Mass Uprising. The meeting was attended by committee members, including Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ahmed Azam Khan, MP, State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain, MP, and lawmakers Md Fazlur Rahman, Md Abdul Hannan, Amir Ejaz Khan, and Rokeya Begum.



Also present were the secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, heads of departments, directorates, agencies under the ministry, senior officials, and concerned officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.
