JS body for completing Sheikh Hasina Textile Engineering College Project by 2023

The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Textiles and Jute has recommended completing the Sheikh Hasina Textile Engineering College Project by 2023, which is being implemented at Melandaha upazila in Jamalpur.

The parliamentary watchdog came up with the recommendation at its 14th meeting held at Sangsad Bhaban here today with committee chairman Mirza Azam in the chair.

Committee members Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury and Abdul Momin Mondol attended the meeting.

The committee suggested the Ministry take steps to acquire additional five acres of land in constructing a fashion design institute at Melandaha upazila in Jamalpur.

It also requested the members of committee to take steps to build textile and vocational Institutes in their respective constituency.

The textile and jute secretary and senior officials of the ministry and Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were, among others, present.
