London: Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Board of Directors Chairman and Joint Editor of the Daily Ittefaq, Anwar Aldin, has urged journalists to prioritize responsible and accurate reporting over sensationalism. Speaking as the keynote discussant at the London Bangla Press Club's special discussion titled "The Future of News," Aldin highlighted the evolving landscape of journalism amid the rise of digital platforms and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anwar Aldin emphasized the challenges and opportunities brought on by technological advancements in the media industry. He remarked on the historical transition from print to electronic media and now to the digital revolution, noting that while technology has made news dissemination faster and more accessible, it has also complicated the task of fact-checking and maintaining authenticity.
Aldin urged journalists to strive for credibility and trustworthiness in an era flooded with misinformation and disinformation. He pointed out that the future of journalism will be increasingly data-driven and faster, but it remains essential for media professionals to help audiences discern truth from falsehoods.
The event saw active participation from journalists and media professionals who engaged in discussions about the changing dynamics of media, the rise of citizen journalism, and the influence of social media. The discussion was chaired by the London Bangla Press Club President Muhammad Jubair and included contributions from the club's founding president Muhib Chowdhury, former presidents, and other notable figures.
