Dhaka: The Bangladesh Army-led joint force today arrested nine alleged drug dealers after conducting a raid in the Karail slum areas in the capital. A release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed the details of the operation this evening. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the joint operation was led by the 14 Independent Engineer Brigades of the Bangladesh Army. Acting on secret information, the forces successfully apprehended nine top drug dealers who were already accused in several drug-related cases. The operation resulted in the recovery of heroin and illegal money believed to have been earned through drug trafficking activities. The arrested individuals, along with the seized contraband drugs, have been handed over to the police for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation is part of a broader initiative by the Bangladesh Army, which includes regular patrolling and special operations in different areas under the 'In Aid to Civil Power' mandate. The initiative ai ms to implement the directives of the current interim government, as stated in the release.
