Khulna: A joint forces team arrested a listed drug peddler and ex-Sachiadah Union Parishad Chairman Bulbul Ahmed under Terokhada upazila in the district last night, said an official press release today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation led to the seizure of 170 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, a lock cutting machine, a motorcycle, two mobile phones, and local weapons after a thorough search of Ahmed's residence. The raid was conducted by a team comprising members of the Navy and Police at Sachiadah Bajar area. Following the arrest, Bulbul Ahmed along with the confiscated items and weapons were handed over to Terokhada Police Station. Two separate cases, including drug smuggling, have been filed against him at the station in connection with the incident.
