Jashore: A petrol pump in Jashore has been fined Tk 40,000 by a mobile court for deliberately halting fuel sales despite having sufficient stock.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fine was imposed on the “Jatrik Pump” during an inspection in RN Road area of Sadar Upazila by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shamim Hossain. The inspection revealed that the pump authorities had intentionally kept the station closed, which led to long queues of customers, although 815 litres of petrol were available in the underground tanks.
The mobile court has ordered the immediate reopening of the petrol pump and instructed the authorities to resume fuel supply to the waiting customers.
