Dhaka: Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Shahabuddin Daud Ali has called upon Japanese language institutes to increase the enrolment of Bangladeshi students, highlighting the immense potential of Bangladesh’s young workforce to contribute to Japan’s labour market. He made the remarks while addressing a seminar titled “Challenges and Potentials of Japanese Language Institutes: Bringing Students from Bangladesh”, held in Osaka today, according to a message received here.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo and the Bangladesh Students’ Support Association in Japan (BSSAJ). Ambassador Daud Ali presided over the seminar, which brought together representatives from nearly 30 Japanese language institutes. He addressed Japan’s growing labour shortage and the demand for skilled foreign workers while noting Bangladesh’s large pool of energetic, motivated, and tech-savvy youth.

The ambassador emphasized that with adequate Japanese language training, Bangladeshi youth can effectively contribute to Japan’s workforce while supporting the economic growth of both nations. He stressed the critical role Japanese language institutes have in this process by offering more opportunities for Bangladeshi students. “I strongly encourage Japanese institutions to admit more students from Bangladesh and support their integration through quality language education,” he added.

Kyushu University Associate Professor Dr. Asir Ahmed also spoke at the seminar, sharing his experiences and urging institutions to open more avenues for Bangladeshi students in language education programs. BSSAJ President Nagamasu Faruq and several other representatives of Japanese language institutes also addressed the gathering.
