Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman today stated that the party would exert effort to ensure the government’s recognition and MPO enlistment of special schools for children with disabilities. He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the central committee of the Bangladesh Coordinating Council of Schools for persons with disabilities held at the Jamaat-e-Islami central office.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Rahman announced that an all-party committee would be formed to advocate for the recognition and MPO enlistment of disability and autistic schools that have been set up nationwide. He also mentioned that the committee is scheduled to meet the Social Welfare Adviser at 2:30 pm tomorrow.
The meeting attendees expressed optimism that the Adviser would implement measures toward recognizing the schools and integrating them into the MPO system. The meeting was chaired by Md. Elias Raj, president of the Bangladesh Coordinating Council of Schools for persons with disabilities, and included speeches by platform leaders such as AHM Saleh Belal, Humayun Kabir, A Salam, and Md. Suruzzaman.
