Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Moktar Ali has emerged victorious in the Jashore-6 constituency during the 13th national parliament election. Ali managed to secure a total of 92,234 votes, outpacing his nearest competitor, BNP candidate Md. Abul Hossain Azad, who garnered 80,141 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the election results were declared at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban, Agargaon in Dhaka. In a referendum held concurrently, 1,34,089 individuals cast ‘Yes’ votes, while 63,105 opted for ‘No’ votes.
