Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-E-Islami candidate ATM Azharul Islam has claimed victory in the Rangpur-2 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. He secured 135,556 votes, surpassing his closest competitor, BNP candidate Mohammad Ali Sarkar, who received 80,538 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the results were announced unofficially at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka. The announcement marks a significant moment for the Jamaat-E-Islami party in this election cycle.
