Kushtia: The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have announced that November 12 will be celebrated annually as Green Campus Day. The initiative aims to transform the campus into a waste-free environment and contribute to environmental protection.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah during a meeting held before a vibrant procession designed to raise awareness about the initiative. The procession, led by Dr. Nasrullah, started from the administrative building and traversed the main roads of the campus, attracting participation from teachers, students, officials, employees, and members of various cleaning and awareness organizations.
Prof. Nakib Nasrullah emphasized the university’s commitment to environmental protection by maintaining a clean campus. He declared that as long as he is in service, the university will observe November 12 as Green Campus Day every year. He encouraged future university leaders to c
ontinue this tradition, aspiring to build a waste-free campus that fosters a sustainable educational environment.
The Vice Chancellor also expressed his gratitude to Green Architect for sponsoring the event, highlighting it as a step towards a shared commitment to a sustainable future.
