International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT) 2025 Inaugurated at UAP

Dhaka: The School of Business at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka (DU), and Germany’s Weiden Business School and Institute of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences have jointly inaugurated the International Conference on Business and Technology (ICBT) 2025.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the two-day conference began today at the UAP campus and will conclude tomorrow at the University of Dhaka. The theme for this year’s conference is “The Interrelation of Business and Technology in Achieving Sustainable Development.” The event has attracted around 250 participants from various countries, with over 100 research papers scheduled for presentation. Discussions are set to explore how business and technology integration can address economic, environmental, and social challenges.



The programme features speeches by 10 keynote speakers from abroad, along with presentations, interactive sessions, and panel discussions. A press release highlighted these sessions as important components of the conference.



During the inaugural ceremony at the UAP Auditorium, Planning Adviser Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud emphasized the significance of the conference as a platform for academics, professionals, and policymakers to contribute to sustainable development. Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairperson of UAP’s Board of Trustees, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of UAP, and Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of DU, were present as special guests.



Architect Mahbuba Haque underscored UAP’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement. Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan commented on how the conference aligns with UAP’s vision for higher education and research. Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed discussed the importance of inter-university collaboration.



The conference is co-chaired by Professor Dr. M. A. Baki Khalili of UAP, Dr. Christiane Hellbach of OTH Amberg-Weiden, and Professor Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam of DU. Professor Dr. S. R. Osmani of Ulster University, UK, presented the keynote paper, offering insights into the integration of business, technology, and sustainable development.



The ceremony concluded with the distribution of crests to the distinguished guests, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Sarwar Razzak Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Business Administration at UAP.
