Dhaka:A three-day international training program focused on promoting responsible chemistry practices among young individuals in Asia commenced today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the 'International Training and Education Programme on Peaceful Use of Chemistry for Youth-2026' is being jointly organized by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the Bangladesh National Authority, Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC). The event is taking place at the Hotel Radisson Blu in Dhaka and will conclude on October 8.
The training, held under the supervision of the Armed Forces Division (AFD), hosts 17 participants from Bangladesh and seven other Asian countries, along with five trainers from both local and international backgrounds. The initiative aims to foster a culture of responsible scientific practices in educational institutions, laboratories, and the chemical industry worldwide.
Major General Md Hakimuzzaman, Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by participants, trainers from various countries, and senior AFD officials.
