Kushtia: An inter-department football tournament began at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday amid festive mood and much enthusiasm. IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AKM Motinur Rahman inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest at the university's central football ground around 11:30 am.
According to United News of Bangladesh, all 36 departments of the university are taking part in the tournament, said Mostafizur Rahman, director of the IU Physical Education Cell. The tournament promises to be a vibrant event with active participation from students across various disciplines.
IU Pro-VC Prof Dr Amtaj Hossain, acting Registrar Prof Dr Atiqur Rahman, Proctor Prof Dr Shahinuzzaman, and teachers from different departments were present on the occasion. The presence of university officials and faculty members added to the significance of the event, highlighting the importance of sports and physical activities in academic institutions.
