Information Adviser Inaugurates Website Dedicated to July Uprising

Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam today inaugurated a website dedicated to the events of the July Uprising. The website, developed by the Press Information Department (PID), was launched at the PID in the Secretariat.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuj Alam emphasized that the website (inauguration.julyuprising.com) presents the events of the July Uprising in chronological order as published in newspapers. He expressed gratitude to PID officials, stating that the platform offers a comprehensive understanding of the mass media’s role during the uprising. Mahfuj Alam highlighted the website’s potential for contributing to research activities and encouraged the addition of news related to the martyrs and injured, as well as movement-related editorials and video content.



Secretary of the ministry, Mahbuba Farzana, described the website as a groundbreaking initiative that will enable future generations to learn about the history of the July Uprising. The event was presided over by Principal Information Officer Md Nizamul Kabir.



The website categorizes information related to the mass uprising in four sections. The ‘Scan Newspaper’ section offers complete scanned copies of newspapers from the period, while the ‘News Clipping’ section contains specific news excerpts. The ‘Photo Album’ section features photography related to the movement, sourced from newspapers and various other origins. Additionally, the ‘Regional Newspaper’ category includes complete scanned copies of divisional and district-level newspapers, providing a comprehensive resource for users.
