Dhaka: The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1289 cases over violation of traffic rules across the city on Monday. The cases were part of a regular drive aimed at maintaining discipline on city roads. This initiative was highlighted in a press release issued by Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at least 214 vehicles were dumped and 74 were wrecked during the day-long drive. This enforcement action is part of DMP’s ongoing efforts to address traffic disturbances and enhance road safety within the city.
DMP officials have confirmed that such drives will continue as part of their strategy to prevent traffic disturbances and ensure smoother transit across Dhaka.
