Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farjana today emphasized the necessity of being vocal to ensure justice for the families of the martyrs from the July Uprising. She expressed this sentiment during a discussion and prayer meeting held at the Press Information Department (PID) conference room on the occasion of the first anniversary of the mass uprising at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Secretary Farjana paid tribute to the martyrs of the July uprising and highlighted the importance of acknowledging the hardships faced by the martyrs' families and those injured during the uprising. She urged the officials within the information service to take a proactive role in bringing these issues to the forefront.
Farjana also addressed the ongoing challenge of rumours and misinformation, labeling them as significant obstacles of the current era. She encouraged the Information Service officials to enhance their efforts in combating these challenges effectively.
The event was chaired by Principal Information Officer Md. Nizamul Kabir, with additional remarks from Information and Broadcasting Ministry's Additional Secretary Md. Kausar Ahmed. The gathering concluded with prayers for the eternal peace of the martyrs' souls and the recovery of the injured. Officers and employees of the PID attended the discussion and prayers.
