Jashore: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested an Indian citizen with foreign liquor from Baulia Bazar in Sadar upazila this morning. The arrestee was identified as Uttam Halder, 39, son of Jiban Halder of Old Bangaon area in West Bengal, India.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a BGB team conducted a raid in the area around 6:30 am based on information and arrested Uttam Halder with 10 bottles of foreign liquor from the Jashore-Narail highway. BGB-49 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Saifullah Siddiqui confirmed the details of the operation.
During a primary interrogation, Uttam Halder disclosed that he was traveling to Dhaka from India via Jashore. The BGB commander stated that the detainee has been handed over to the Jashore Kotwali Police Station, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
