Lalmonirhat: An auto driver was electrocuted at Kharubhaj village of Sarpukur union under Aditmari upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was Surut Ali, 50, son of late Belal Hossain, a resident of the same village.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Surut Ali came in contact with a live electric wire while he was trying to unplug the auto bike from the charger at his house without turning off the power switch. Seriously injured Surut was taken to a local hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Akbar confirmed the matter.
