India Reiterates Support for Democratic, Inclusive Bangladesh

Dhaka: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has reiterated India’s support for a democratic, progressive and inclusive Bangladesh. The statement was made during a prize-distribution ceremony of a national-level Srimad Bhagavad Gita recitation competition organized by the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad (BPUP) at the Dhakeshwari Temple premises on April 4.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the event was attended by several notable figures, including Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Bijon Kanti Sarkar, and BPUP President Basudeb Dhar. These senior dignitaries also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of cultural and religious events in fostering community bonds and mutual respect.

The High Commission noted the significance of such cultural exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting a shared vision for regional cooperation. The presence of high-profile attendees underscored the importance of the event and the commitments made by both nations towards fostering an inclusive and harmonious society.
