Sonamasjid: Import and export activities through Sonamasjid Land Port, the country’s second-largest land port, will remain suspended for eight days from Tuesday on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the information was confirmed on Monday afternoon by Tipu Sultan, Public Relations Officer of Panama Port Link Limited. The decision was made jointly by the Sonamasjid Import and Export Group and the Sonamasjid Land Port C and F Agent Association. Under this decision, all import and export operations through the land port will be closed from May 26 to June 2.

Sources at the Sonamasjid Land Port Authority revealed that normal operations are expected to resume from Wednesday, June 3, following the end of the Eid holiday. Although import-export activities will be suspended during this period, some internal port operations, including loading and unloading, warehousing, and transportation services, will continue on a limited scale.

The Sonamasjid Land Port Authority also noted that the Immigration Check Post and related departments will remain operational under special arrangements. This is to facilitate the movement of passport-bearing passengers during the holiday period.
