Dhaka: A fire has broken out at the Kalshi slum in the capital while 13 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence have been working to bring the fire under control.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anwarul Islam Dolon, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence, stated that after receiving the report at 7.23 PM, two units were initially dispatched to the scene and began firefighting operations. As the situation escalated, more units were dispatched to the scene, with a total of 13 units now actively engaged in operations to manage the fire.
No information has yet been received regarding the initial cause of the fire, the extent of the damage, or any casualties, he added.
